Legacy International is set to organize a new ATP 250 tournament in Belgrade. Named “Belgrade Open”, this tournament will be played on an indoor hard-court surface, from 2nd to 9th November, at a multi-purpose Belgrade Arena.
After 3 years and successful organization of 7 clay-court ATP and WTA tournaments in Belgrade, in 2024 Legacy International was awarded a new ATP 250 license – this time for an indoor hard-court tournament.
The tournament was initially due to be held in Gijon, Spain, but had to be relocated because of unforeseen operational matters. The relocation will see the event held in Belgrade for an initial two-year period, giving Serbia and Belgrade a chance to continue developing as recognizable tennis and sports destination.
Tournament director and Legacy International CEO, Djordje Djokovic, expressed his excitement for the upcoming project:
“Our goal was to continue the tradition of organizing ATP tournaments in Belgrade, and thanks to the trust of the ATP organization and this new license, we can do so. I believe this came as a result of the hard work and dedication we’ve shown in the last three years. We will do our best to, once again, deliver an event that will celebrate tennis, promote Belgrade as a sports destination, and inspire young athletes, remaining a place where players and fans gladly return to.”
As one of the biggest sporting events in Serbia and the entire region, the Belgrade Open will welcome some of the best tennis players in the world and finish the 2024 tennis season in the best possible way.
