Belgrade Open, held from 2nd to 9th of November, is the first indoor hard-court ATP 250 tournament to ever be organized in Belgrade, Serbia.
It was held in the multipurpose and legendary Belgrade Arena, with over 15.000 seats on two match courts, and numerous never-before-seen moments, experiences and events, as well as many humanitarian and ecological initiatives.
After hosting 7 different ATP and WTA events since 2021, Belgrade has proven to be a recognizable tennis and sports destination, and Legacy team at this point was up to any challenge and deadline.
With a little over 3 months to organize and deliver this amazing event, we welcomed some of the biggest tennis names from the top 10, 20 and 30 in the world, gave a chance to new tennis talents, created future tennis champions and sent the most beautiful picture from Belgrade to the world.
In the process of organizing this event the Belgrade Arena complex underwent a series of major changes. The central area of the Arena, featured two professional hard- courts: a Central and Grandstand Court. These two courts were separated by a specially constructed wall, that significantly reduced noise distractions and provided necessary functionality, but also a visual spectacle for the audience, who saw the Belgrade Arena in this form for the first time in history.
Let’s not forget the most important part. The Belgrade Open served as a platform for creating lasting changes in society. Firstly, all proceeds from ticket sales for the Grandstand Court will be donated to children without parental care. Additionally, the tournament featured an important environmental aspect, with all participants directly contributing to it.
Equal attention has also been given to the tournament visitors, as the Belgrade Arena featured not one, but two FAN zones. We prepared numerous activities, games and surprises, allowing visitors to enjoy interactive experiences alongside watching top-level matches.
Through the initiative “1 ACE – 10 TREES,” for every ace scored during the tournament, 10 trees were donated to cities across Serbia. As a result, with 612 aces served by tournament participants, 6,120 new seedlings will be planted, continuing Serbia’s reforestation efforts. These efforts began in 2022, with the initiative “1 ticket – 1 tree,” during which 36,000 trees were planted across Serbia.
The closing ceremony, well that was something different! Specially designed player entrance tunnel, dancers, light and smoke effects on the court, live performances, and constant interaction with fans in the stands, made the tournament extraordinary, one-of-a-kind and a true attraction for all attendees.
